According to Carol Robinson, a young Birmingham girl was struck by a train in North Alabama this evening, Wednesday, March 28.
The incident, occurred near the Collegeville community, happened somewhere between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Both Birmingham police and firefighters were dispatched to 29th Court North and Fred Shuttlesworth Drive.
Where the incident occurred is still not clear accoring to Birmingham Police Department’s Public Information Officer, Lt. Pete Wilson.
While the police and fire department’s are not sure how the accident happened, Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Capt. Harold Watson said the victim, who is 7, has a severe leg injury and was taken to Children’s of Alabama where she is in serious condition.
