BIRMINGHAM — The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic violence case where a 45-year-old woman was shot by her ex husband.
Just before 8 a.m. on Monday, deputies responded to a residence at the 300 block of Trenton Street in the McDonald Chapel community where they found a 45-year-old woman suffering critical injuries.
She was taken to an area hospital.
Information from the scene is that the victim’s ex-husband broke into the home where she and her children live. The children fled to a neighbor’s home and we’re not injured.
The victim argued with the suspect. He pulled a gun and shot her. The suspect fled the scene in a silver Acura before deputies arrived.
