From The Trussille Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE –When Power Grid Engineering makes a move to Trussville, the company won’t have far to go. They are currently just outside the Trussville city limits inside Birmingham on Vann Road. But the move to 820 Watterson Curve will be big for the company, almost doubling the work space from 3,100 square feet to 6,000 square feet, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
The additional space will allow the company to add 13 employees at an average wage of around $70,000.
“We opened our doors back in 2012 with just two engineers, so it’s been rewarding to see our team grow and continue to grow with more open positions for this year,” Chris Salter, director of engineering at the Alabama office, told the BBJ. “Our new office will allow us the opportunity to fill an additional 13 seats, equivalent to the amount of $900,000 to contribute to the community.”
Based out of Lake Mary, Fla., PGE is a power systems design firm, specializing in engineering design and consultation for the power systems industry. Our corporate headquarters, located in Central Florida as well as our remote offices in Birmingham, Alabama; Raleigh, North Carolina; and El Dorado, Kansas, are equipped with the most current industry resources available including computer technology, software and equipment, according to the company website.
Michael Wright, president of PGE, said while searching for their new office, they wanted space they could be proud of.
“At PGE, one of our core values is ‘Happy Employees are Productive Employees,’” Wright told the BBJ. “With that core value in mind, we wanted to find a location that is a true reflection of our commitment to our employees and to have an environment that promotes collaboration and the high quality engineering for which we are known.”
