From the Trussville Tribune staff reports
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the Jefferson County Library Cooperative will hold “The Great Give” fundraiser, which the Trussville Public Libray will take part in. This campaign will kick off on May 8 and 9.
With 40 different library locations in the county since being established in 1978, JCLC will “offer countywide sharing of countless services and resources with the “One County, One Card” system.” The fundraiser is aimed at benefiting all libraries in the county.
“We encourage Jefferson County residents to give $40 this year as we celebrate 40 years of cooperation with what is now the 40 libraries in our cooperative,” said Pat Ryan, who is Executive Director of the JCLC. “The Library Cooperative works behind-the-scenes to coordinate the services that link 40 libraries with one card for everyone in the county.
Tonight, a kickoff event will be held at the Homewood Public Library at 1721 Oxmoor Rd. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All donations to the campaign are tax-deductible as JCLC is a 501 (c) organization.
