McClinton was believed to be the victim at first but later investigation led police to consult with the District Attorney’s Office on charging him in the incident.
On June 21, the incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 westbound before the Interstate 459 south ramp. McClinton told police that he was being harassed by a man in another vehicle. He told police that the other man pulled out what appeared to be an AK-47 and fired at him.
