PONCHATOULA, LA — After a bar fight on Sunday, which resulted in the death of Alabama fan Robert Bowers, 46, two LSU fans have been charged with manslaughter, according to the Tuscaloosa News.
The Ponchatoula Police Department has reported that early on Sunday an altercation involving multiple individuals took place inside of the Ponchatoula Pub. This altercation led to Robert Bowers being struck by two individuals, identified as Azia Crockett, 27, and Ryan Anthony, 24.
Authorities also advised that Bowers became unconscious and began receiving immediate medical attention from a Ponchatoula volunteer fireman until medics arrived on the scene.
Bowers was transported to North Oaks Medical Center and then later transported to University Medical Center where he remained on life support until he lost his life on Tuesday.
Police have further advised that Crockett and Anthony have both been charged with one count each of felony manslaughter. Both individuals turned themselves into Ponchatoula Detectives. They were booked on the charges and transported to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
According to the Tuscaloosa News Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson said the suspects are LSU fans; however, witnesses have not indicated what started the fight.
