A Trussville resident early Monday morning allegedly exchanged gunfire with a suspicious person.
Trussville Police Department Lt. Jeff Bridges said a resident was preparing to leave for work at about 2:20 a.m. Monday when he saw two black males in a dark sedan up the street in the 400 block of Nichols Way in downtown Trussville.
Bridges said the man apparently felt uneasy about it and retrieved his handgun because Nichols Way is a dead-end street and the car would have to turn around and come back.
Bridges said the resident said that one shot was allegedly fired toward him from the dark sedan. He then allegedly fired one back, Bridges said.
Bridges said the dark sedan has not been located and no evidence of gunfire has been found in the area.
