ALABASTER — A Madison County juvenile is being charged with a felony in relation to a threat of violence made against Thompson High School on Jan. 10.

The threat of violence was reported to the Alabaster Police Department at just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 10. The threat was called in and Thompson High School was placed on lock down.
Authorities said that an investigation was immediately launched. The investigation identified a juvenile from Madison County as the offender.
The juvenile is being charged with making a terrorist threat, which is a class c felony, according to officials.
“Threats to school will never be taken lightly,” said Alabaster Police Department Chief Curtis Rigney. “The Alabaster Police Department will do everything in its power to ensure the safety of our children.”
