LEEDS — A shooting on Interstate 20 in Leeds resulted in two people being injured on Saturday.
Leeds Police Chief Jim Atkinson said that the shooting took place in the eastbound lanes of I-20 at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, according to ABC 33/40.
ABC 33/40 reported that the shooting was caught on video by a driver of an 18-wheeler in the area. He informed police that two vehicles were moving erratically through traffic and that a rifle was stuck out of the vehicle’s window just before the shooting started.
The first victim was a 25-year-old man from Leeds, who was shot between eight and 10 times while driving the vehicle. The second victim was a 23-year-old woman who had been sitting in the back seat. She was shot in the abdomen. The victims were taken to UAB Hospital and are in stable condition, according to ABC 33/40.
Both victims were from Leeds and according to the driver of the 18-wheeler, the suspects appeared to be in a white car.
