Trussville native earns top JSU scholarship

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville State University Honors Program has announced recipients of the Elite Honors Scholarship for 2014-2015, and one is from Trussville.

Jennie Tanner, of Trussville, is one of eight JSU students to earn the scholarship.

The Elite Honors Scholarship is JSU’s top academic scholarship.

Others earning the scholarship are Peter Abney from Tallapoosa, Ga.; Katherine Cline from Jacksonville; Kendall Gulledge from Gadsden; Bailey Heflin from Oxford; John Mackey from Montgomery; Sawyer McKay from Ider; and Krista McNutt from Pell City.

This group of scholars begins this fall term and is the sixth to be awarded.
