JEFFERSON COUNTY — One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Clay-Palmerdale Road on Sunday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and a car at about 12:24 p.m. Sunday on Clay-Palmerdale Road near Brookwood Road.

The investigation indicates that the driver of the motorcycle crossed the center line in a curve and collided with an oncoming car, said Sgt. Jack Self.

The 21-year-old female driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital by Palmerdale paramedics with serious injuries. Her condition is not known, Self said.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the accident.
