TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department has identified a suspect in Friday’s alleged robbery of a woman near Plato’s Closet on U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville.
Lt. Jeff Bridges identified the suspect as 19-year-old Travel J.C. Gaspard, of Birmingham.
Bridges said there is an active warrant for Gaspard’s arrest. He will be charged with first-degree robbery. His bond will be set at $30,000.
Bridges said Gaspard has not yet been located by authorities.
A woman was allegedly held at gunpoint while a black male demanded her money at about 9 a.m. Friday, according to police.
The woman was in the parking lot at Plato’s Closet in the 1800 block of Gadsden Highway, Bridges said. The suspect allegedly pulled up in a green vehicle with black wheels and tinted windows, exited his car and brandished a black semi pistol, allegedly robbing the victim of $83, Bridges said.
The suspect fled in the same vehicle.
