TRUSSVILLE — The 12U American League All-Star team from Trussville, led by head coach Pat Coyne and assistant coaches Brian Lachina and Josh Payne, won the GBBA American League Championship Saturday at Hoover East.
Going undefeated in bracket play, the team captured the title with an exciting six-run inning that ended with a walk-off hit to eliminate Oak Mountain. The team, made up of eight 11-year-old’s and three 12-year-old’s, received their rings and celebrated their win by treating their coaches to a celebratory Gatorade and ice water cooler bath.
Players on the team are Bradley Coffman, Ian Franzer, Hunter Kyle, Rush Lachina, Landon Nabors, Keelan Oniszko, Reagan Patterson, Brodie Payne, Justin Pendleton, Thomas Stacks, and Stephen Zwiebel.
