CLAY – Dennis Locke has announced his candidacy for place 5 on the Clay City Council.
Locke and his family have been residents of Clay since 2004.
“I am not a politician and I have no hidden agenda,” Locke said. “I just want to do what I can to help our city reach its full potential.”
Locke said he believes the current administration has built a great foundation, which positions the city well for the future.
“To be successful we must be transparent and make sure we do the right things for the right reasons,” Locke said. “I believe it is important that we continue to grow and develop a high level of trust with the community and that means we need to maintain open dialogue between city government and the citizens we are elected serve.”
Locke has been a frequent attendee of city council meetings over the last eight years, allowing him to learn about city government and see the importance of community involvement.
Locke and his wife Tina have been married for 30 years, and have three children that graduated from CCHS. They also have four grandchildren.
Locke is an IT director and has worked for Brookwood Baptist Health for 39 years. He’s the current president of the Greater Steeple Chase Home Owner’s Association, Vice Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Chairman of the Personnel Board.
“It would be my honor to serve our city in this new capacity,” Locke said.
Locke and his wife are active members of Faith Community Fellowship.
