BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a reported carjacking, which took place on Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to Henry Crumpton Drive at West Ann Drive on reports of a carjacking and shooting. At the scene, they found a male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The victim reported he was robbed of a white Crown Victoria.
A second victim was found on Jefferson Avenue. Police initially thought the victim was the carjacker, but Lt. Sean Edwards told al.com there were conflicting reports about what led to the gunfire, and officers aren’t sure whether the incident was really a carjacking.
