TRUSSVILLE — The capital murder case of Bryan Hancock, 22, of Pinson, has been assigned to a judge and a preliminary hearing has been ordered.
The Honorable Tracie Todd will take the case.
Randy Young, 40, was shot at the Cracker Barrel on Norrell Drive on the night of Thursday, March 28. He died two days later at UAB.
Hancock’s attorney said video surveillance from the shooting will prove his client is innocent. If found guilty of capital murder, Hancock could face the death penalty. He is in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
The defendant and his attorneys have been asked to appear in court for a preliminary hearing along with the state to discuss facts and circumstances surrounding the charges. A date for that hearing has not been set.
