Hoover freshman Brittley Humphrey broke former Hewitt-Trussville indoor track athlete Jihone Tron’s 60-meter hurdles state record Saturday at the 34th AHSAA State Indoor Track and Field Championships at the CrossPlex in Birmingham
.
Humphrey completed the 60-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds, breaking Tron’s mark of 8.93, which was set in 1999. Humphrey had ran an 8.97 in the preliminaries Friday.
The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ team finished seventh out of 22 teams Saturday.
The Hewitt-Trussville girls’ indoor track and field team finished 11th out of 20 teams.
