A Pinson man has been charged with criminal surveillance, the charge for Peeping Tom, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian said Tuesday.
Robert Earl Pickett, 51, is charged with criminal surveillance, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, all misdemeanors, Christian said.
Christian said that just after midnight on Monday, deputies were called to the 7800 block of Wisdom Way north of Pinson to investigate a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a man had been seen looking in the windows of a residence and a neighbor was confronting him, Christian said.
Deputies arrived to find two men that appeared to be struggling with each other. The men were separated, Christian said. It was learned that Pickett had been seen “peeping in the bedroom window of a neighbor,” Christian said.
“The neighbor went outside and caught him looking in the window and confronted him and was attempting to keep him there until deputies arrived,” Christian said.
Pickett was arrested and charged with the three misdemeanors. Pickett posted ,000 bond Tuesday morning and was released from Jefferson County Jail, Christian said
