Trussville’s 2013 Beautification Awards were announced at last weekend’s City Fest.
Best landscape design went to David Aaron. The Sherman Oaks entrance was named honor roll. Best turf wen to Henry and Dot Hagood, while Libba and Daryl Ellison were named honor roll.
Jill Currier won first place for best use of color, and honor roll went to Reid and Martha Todd. Susan Morris won the best maintained category for a homeowner, while Jo Ann and Paul West took the honor roll. The best professionally maintained category was won by Theresa Howard.
First Baptist Church Trussville won the best business category, while Ginni G Florist took the honor roll spot.
David and Anita Aaron won the lifetime achievement award.
About 2,000 people attended City Fest earlier this month.
“With all the rain we’ve had in the weeks leading up to City Fest, we’re very thankful for the dry weather,” said Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Poole. “Everybody seemed to have a great time.”
Trussville’s Got Talent winners included Paine Intermediate School student Kourtney Clay, Hewitt-Trussville Middle School student Erin Bardwell and Paine Primary School student Noah Weber.
