A Hewitt-Trussville High School junior earlier this month finished as the first runner-up in the Miss Alabama Teen USA Pageant in Montgomery.
Taylor Elliott finished first runner-up in a competition that included 54 other teenage contestants from around the state of Alabama.

The pageant included interview, evening gown and swimsuit competitions. Along with a $40,000 scholarship to Lindenwood University, Elliott received other awards and prizes.
