You may not want to pull those shorts out of storage just yet. The National Weather Service in Birmingham is forecasting a wet and cold Monday after temps hit 74 on Sunday.
A cold front will push through the area tonight bring rain and dropping Monday’s expected high to 44. Freezing rain is expected in the extreme northwest corner of the state, but there will be only rain locally. Read the full report below.
- Sunday night –Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 4 a.m., then showers after 4 a.m. Low around 39. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
- Monday –Showers likely before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of rain between 9 a.m. and noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 44. North wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
- Monday Night –Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northeast after midnight.
