MORRIS — At about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies were called to investigate a traffic accident on Highway 31 near Morris Majestic Road, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
Christian said the accident involved two bicyclists.
“Deputies arrived to find the two riders critically injured,” Christian said. “The pair, a 55-year-old man and a 48-year-old man both from Warrior, were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car was not injured.”
According to Christian, the investigation indicates that the driver of the car was traveling south on U.S. Highway 31 behind another car. The car in front abruptly changed lanes to go around the cyclists. The driver of the second car did not see them in time and struck them from behind.
