TRUSSVILLE — Two men will be charged in the theft and fleeing from Walmart in Trussville late Monday night that left two Trussville Police Department cruisers wrecked, according to authorities.
Capt. Jeff Bridges said Marlon Dewayne Mickles, 23, of Birmingham will be charged with first-degree theft and attempting to elude.
Bridges said Cordarrius Dewayne Nix, 23, of Center Point will be charged with second-degree criminal mischief, attempting to elude, failure to obey and reckless endangerment.
Bridges said one black male allegedly shoplifted from Walmart, leaving the store with items to a waiting black male in a vehicle.
Bridges said two Trussville Police Department Tahoes attempted to stop the vehicle, but it struck both police cruisers.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was caught after the wreck. The other suspect ran but was soon apprehended, Bridges said.
One officer broke a finger, he said. Neither suspect was injured.
