TRUSSVILLE — Mark Searby was recently called to serve as interim pastor of Deerfoot Baptist Church in Trussville.
He began his ministry on Sunday, Jan. 4. Searby has been a faculty member of Beeson Divinity School at Samford University for the past seven years. He is currently serving as director of Doctor of Ministry Studies and Student Services at Beeson.
Prior to this, Searby taught for 10 years and served as administrator for four years at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary in Lincoln, Ill. He was also a pastor of churches in Illinois (his home state) for 24 years, and has continued to preach regularly since coming to Beeson.
He and his wife, Linda Searby, have two sons and four grandchildren. Linda teaches educational leadership at Auburn University, commuting from Birmingham several days per week.
