BIRMINGHAM — A three-vehicle crash at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, claimed the life of a Birmingham woman and injured one other driver. Khoeum Chen, 69, was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo she was driving collided head-on with a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu driven by William Andrew Baty, 52, of Pinson. Chen was pronounced dead at the scene. Baty was airlifted to the UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The third driver, Alicia Grace Liddon, 35, of Vestavia Hills, was not injured. The crash occurred on Alabama 79 two miles north of Pinson. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
