JEFFERSON COUNTY — Just before 8 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 24, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General store located in the 2200 block of Brewster Road according to a release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
When deputies arrived and spoke to four employees, the store manager reported she and the other three employees were walking across the parking lot from the store to a nearby bank to drop the deposit from the previous night. The manager said a black male emerged from a wooded area behind the store and approached them. He then pointed a handgun at them and demanded the money. He took the money and ran behind a vacant grocery store.
The suspect was reportedly seen getting into the back seat of a black Acura that left the area traveling south on Old Springville Road.
