JEFFERSON COUNTY — A Jefferson County man is dead after being stabbed by a 17-year-old boy according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 in the 9800 block of Corner School Road.
The man was the boy’s great uncle, and according to police and witness statements, had been consuming alcohol before the incident. An argument then ensued between the family over someone allegedly being inside a storm shelter on the property. Witnesses said he then began to threaten the boy and was throwing objects at a car belonging to the boy’s mother. When the man charged, he allegedly punched the 17-year-old in the face. The boy then stabbed him with a hunting knife he had on his belt.
Paramedics attempted treatment, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and results will be filed with the District Attorney’s office to determine whether or not charges will be filed.
