TRUSSVILLE — The Super Chili Bowl is back for another year in 2016. After a year hiatus, the event is set for Feb. 6, 2016, at the Trussville Civic Center.
The Super Chili Bowl is a fundraising event for The Independence Place, an organization that strives to meet the social and recreational needs of adult individuals with cognitive and physical challenges in a way that allows them to experience a life full of purpose and celebration.
Teams interested in registering to compete in the event must do so by visiting www.TrussvilleChili.org and filling out a Team Application form and submitting the fee of $50 on the website.
The fee for vendors include an 8×8 foot cooking area, an electrical outlet, a 6-foot table, cups, spoons, ladles and gloves.
Awards will be given out for first, second and third places in the chili competition. There will also be awards for best booth decoration and best costume. A people’s choice winner will also be announced.
The event is scheduled to begin at noon and will conclude with the presentation of awards at 2:30 p.m.
For those guests who are not fans of chili, there will be hamburgers, chips, drinks and desserts available, but will not be included in the $5 admission charge. Tickets can also be purchased on the website.
Corporate sponsorships are also available on the website.
