BIRMINGHAM – A-34-year old man has been transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury following a shooting just before 9:00 A.M. this morning.
Jefferson County deputies were called to the 100 block of 23rd Ave NE in Center Point to investigate a report of a shooting. Deputies arrives to find a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg in the driveway of a nearby residence in the 2200 block of 2nd Street NE.
According to a report by Chief Deputy Randy Christian, the man and a woman at the scene are married and in the process of divorce. The man does not live at the residence, but came by this morning. A fight ensued and the woman shot him in the leg.
The woman remained at the scene and is being questioned by detectives. The investigation is ongoing.
