BIRMINGHAM —On Saturday, at around 2:15 p.m. Birmingham police officers from the north precinct responded to the 600 block of 6th Avenue North on a person shot, according to a statement from Sergeant Bryan Shelton.
Officers observed the victim lying on the ground suffering from unknown injuries. Medics arrived and pronounced the victim dead on the scene. His death at that time was unclassified.
The victim has been identified as Thebious Roland, 40, of Birmingham
Police have now confirmed Roland was shot and killed inside his business, Roland’s Auto Works. No clear motive for his death exist.
Police also said they have no suspect information and are actively investigating this case.
“Our focus as always will be to find out what happened to the victim and why,” Shelton said. “Our hope is to bring a sense of closure to Mr. Roland’s family.”
