TRUSSVILLE – A Big Ten Conference school has made recent football scholarship offers to a couple of Hewitt-Trussville Huskies.
Defensive lineman Christian Smith and cornerback David Acfalle each were offered scholarships by the University of Illinois this week.
Both players already have a handful of offers. Acfalle has been offered by Southern Miss, East Tennessee and Mercer among others, and picked up offers from Troy and Western Kentucky this week as well.
Smith holds offers from Samford and Gardner-Webb and then collected one from Troy this week also.
High school recruiting analyst Tom Culpepper tweeted to Smith, “290 pounds, a legitimate 5.0 forty and good film should generate many more offers for you.”
Meanwhile, track and football star Noah Igbinoghene already holds an offer from the Illini among his 20 offers.
