PINSON — Curls and Pearls Salon and Boutique had its grand opening Saturday.
The family owned and operated facility offers facial waxing, nail services, cut, color, makeup and more. There is also an on-site boutique.
The salon is owned by Rebecca Paullin, her mother-in-law Dawn Norris and her sister-in-law Summer Lonergan.
“I was working at a high-end salon in Pelham, and just wanted to be on my own,” said Paullin. “My mother-in-law had always wanted to be involved in the beauty industry, and my sister-in-law wanted to be a
cosmetologist.”
Paullin said that after she found the building on Craigslist, the three women jumped in to get their business up and running. After purchasing the building in November, the salon opened in February.
“It was something all of us wanted, so we made it happen,” said Paullin.
In addition to traditional salon services, Curls and Pearls also offers tutorials such as five minute at home hair styles, and how to properly fill in eyebrows. The salon also partners with a photographer to do on-site wedding makeup and photography sessions.
“I’m most excited that I get to treat my clients the way I want to treat them,” said Paullin. “I don’t have to work under someone that says I can only take 30 minutes for a haircut. I have more freedom to make my clients happier.”
The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday by appointment only. You can find their location at 6778 Old Springville Road.
