GRAYSON VALLEY — A shootout between two groups of males in the Grayson Valley Townhomes sent two males to the hospital with gunshot wounds, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 4 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a report of shots being fired in the 2400 block of Hampstead Drive in Grayson Valley. They arrived to find two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation at the scene revealed that the two victims and a third man had been at the residence visiting a female friend. As they were leaving, the brother of the female friend fired shots into the car, and the three fled the area and were found walking a short distance away, abandoning their vehicle.
The victims said that the shooting stemmed from an argument over money the shooter was believed was owed to him.
The name of the suspect is being withheld pending formal charges. The investigation is ongoing.
