BIRMINGHAM — Authorities have identified the man who was found dead in a chair in his bedroom after being shot in the chest in the 1300 block of 17th Street S.W., according to Lt. Sean Edwards with the Birmingham Police Department.
Larry Sanders, a 56-year-old black male of Birmingham, was found Monday morning by his brother after Sanders’ work notified relatives that he had not shown up.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and found what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the victim’s chest.
BPD is conducting a homicide investigation regarding the incident. Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to please contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.
