The victim who died yesterday after a shooting occurred at Huffman High School has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office. The coroner has also identified the body that was found at East Lake Park in Birmingham yesterday.
Yesterday, three people were injured when a gun supposedly went off by accident. Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates identified Courtlin Lashawn Arrington, 17, who died while being transported to UAB Hospital. An adult male and male teenager were treated for injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by Birmingham Police.
Yates also identified the body discovered at East Lake Park in Birmingham as Morris Durell Tubbs, 32, of Bessemer. He was discovered by a man who was walking around the lake and called 911. The coroner has not yet determined the cause of death but has said that there is no evidence of foul play.
