BIRMINGHAM — A man who attempted to rob a Synovus Bank in Birmingham is also responsible for the robbery of a Servis First Bank in March, said Lt. Pete Wiliston from the Birmingham Police Department.
On April 18, Benjamin Madison, 37, was arrested after he surrendered to a security guard at Synovus Bank at Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd in Birmingham. Police say that he walked inside with a weapon but was stopped by an armed guard.
He was charged with robbery in the first degree and certain persons prohibited and was held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Now, police say that he robbed a Servis First Bank, also located at Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd, on March 13. Today, the Jefferson County District Attorney issued a warrant for first degree robbery for the March incident.
Madison remains at the Jefferson County Jail with an additional $30,000 bond.
