According to the report, the car was found at a power line right of way near Rex Lake Road and Bass Pro Shop. It was initially reported as a woods fire. Authorities from the Leeds police and fire departments discovered the car had been packed with kindling and set on fire.
Though the tag was partially burned, authorities were able to find the registered owner of the vehicle.
On Wednesday, Thurman was found by a family member after they had not heard from him. His death was unclassified at first but further evidence prompted police to classify it as a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
