Blount County – Weather permitting, on Tuesday, July 24th, beginning at approximately 8 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin guardrail repairs on various routes in Blount County as follows:
The repairs will begin on AL 75. After the repairs are complete on AL-75, they will continue AL-79, AL-53 (US-231) and AL-74 (US-278).
These repairs will take approximately two weeks to complete and will require lane closures in the work zone. Lanes will re-open each day at 4 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays during these operations. Motorists are also requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
