TRUSSVILLE— The winners of the Bryant-Jordan scholarship winners will see an increase in their scholarship amounts in 2019.
The Bryant-Jordan scholarship program was founded in 1986 as a partnership between the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the Alabama High School Athletic Association with the mission of recognizing the state’s best and brightest high school student-athletes.
The 2019 winners of this scholarship will see a $61,000 increase from the 2018 total.
The increases are:
— 104 Regional Winners increase from $2,500 to $3,000
— 14 Class Winners increase from $3,000 to $3,500
— 2 Overall Winners increasing from $3,000 to $4,000 each
“With the continuing rise in college tuition, we feel that this increase is very timely,” Bryant-Jordan Board President Edgar Welden said. “From the beginning, it has been the mission of this program to grow in order to affect as many young lives as possible.”
