BIRMINGHAM – Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies are conducting a shooting investigation in northeast Jefferson County.
About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the 2600 block of Streetman Circle, off Chalkville Road near Grayson Valley.
An adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The shooter fled the scene, but suspects were located by patrol deputies a short distance away and were taken into custody for questioning.
At this point the motive is unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided as they become available.
