COVINGTON COUNTY – According to WIAT former Alabama Head Coach Mike Dubose has been airlifted to the Mizell Memorial Hosipital after accidentally firing a pistol, and sustaining an injury, while mowing grass.
Sources have reported that Dubose carries a pistol while mowing grass in case he encounters snakes. The same sources have reported that the pistol accidentally discharged.
Dubose’s injuries are not life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Dubose was head coach of Alabama from 1997 to 2000. He led the team to an SEC Championship and an appearance in the Orange Bowl.
