IDAHO — A teacher in southeast Idaho accused of feeding a live puppy to a turtle in front of a group of students has been acquitted after facing misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty, according to ABC 33/40.
ABC 33/40 reported that Robert Crosland was found not guilty after a jury deliberated on the charge for around 30 minutes on Friday.
The allegations were first made in June and charges followed soon after.
According to ABC 33/40, the jury listened to a recorded interview in which Crosland told investigators that he believed his actions to be correct because the puppy was sick and likely about to die.
