HOOVER — The ASHAA will be hosting the first ever AHSAA Elite 100 Basketball Showcase Events for boys and girls Sunday, June 22, with the local area being well represented at the event.
The boys’ event will be held at Hoover High School while the girls will be at Spain Park High School.
Representing Trussville will be Leah Harrison and Amiya Payne for the girls’ event. Alandia Calhoun and Amani Dawkins will be representing the girls for Center Point, and GaQuincy McKinstry and Kameron Woods will be representing the boys’ team for Pinson Valley High School.
The purpose of the showcase is to give an opportunity for the AHSAA’s top returning student-athletes to gain important instruction as well as exposure to college coaches in attendance – under the supervision of member schools and member school coaches.
Hewitt-Trussville girls’ basketball played in the AHSAA Class 7A State Championship game and posted their best season ever.
Pinson Valley boys’ basketball won the 2019 AHSAA Class 6A state champions.
