From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club inducted its officers and board members for the 2019-20 year at its weekly meeting on June 26. Around the world, 33,000 Rotary Clubs are welcoming new officers and board this week.
Serving as Club President is Ken Vaughan of Jefferson County Housing Authority. Vic Modic of McWane Corporation is the President-elect, and Kim Ryals (consultant) is President-nominee. Sandra Vernon of Trussville City Schools is Past President, Secretary is John Griscom (retired), Treasurer is Jeremy Tuggle of Bryant Bank, and Sergeant-at-Arms is Alan Taylor of First Baptist Church Trussville.
Committee chairs make up the directors for the club. Those named for the coming year are: Membership – Kim Ryals; Community Service – Theresa Ball; International Service – Pat McTamney (Parcels Too Business Services and also Premier Payroll); Rotary Foundation – Frank Jett (retired); Student and Youth Services – Ty Williams (Restoration Academy); Programs – Brooks Cole (Merrill Lynch); and Public Image – Diane Poole (retired).
In addition, the Club recognized Danny Cooner (Safety First) who begins his third and final year as Assistant Governor for District 6860. Danny is the sixth assistant governor in this club’s history. It is very unusual for a club of any size to have five past assistant governors. Previous assistant governors include Mary Jean Sanspree (who has also served as a district governor), Pat McTamney, Martin Woosley, Van Horne and John Griscom.
The Club meets at First Baptist Church Trussville located at 128 North Chalkville Road in Trussville at 7 a.m. on the second, third and fourth Wednesday mornings of each month.
