PINSON — Pinson Valley senior softball player Jordan Walker inked her intention earlier this week to continue her playing career in college at Coastal Alabama Community College.
“Coastal Alabama was the best choice for me offering both academic and athletic opportunities that were in line with my future goals,” Walker said. “And even though it is four hours away from home, the campus and the town seemed the most like home. Coastal Alabama is where I belong.”
Walker, a pitcher/outfielder/utility player, has been a starter with the Indians since the ninth grade. She was called up to the varsity team while she was in middle school.
Off the field, Walker is member of the National English Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and the Health Occupation Students of America. She is also an athletic trainer for the football team. She received her Basic EMT certification from Jefferson State Community College this past summer.
In addition to her future role on the Sun Chiefs’ softball team, Walker plans to pursue a nursing major. Her ultimate goal is to become a paramedic.
