From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
CLAY — A new church, called Calvary Chapel Trussville, has moved to Clay, near City Hall.
The church previously met at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Trussville. Now, the permanent location is at 5239 Old Springville Road, in suites 103 and 104.
Calvary Chapel Trussville is a part of a larger network of non-denominational churches. Pastor Tyler Warner and church elder Zachary Grafman moved to Alabama from Virginia, after considering options for a new church.
“We wanted to stay in the south because we really like it here,” said Grafman. “In the Trussville, Clay and Pinson areas, there isn’t a Calvary Chapel Church, so we prayed about this area, met people and really felt strongly that the Lord was calling us to come here.”
After months of prayers and preparation, Calvary Chapel Trussville had its first service in September of 2018. It wasn’t long before the church was able to find a home.
“We’re really, incredibly blessed that the Lord has enabled us to do this,” said Grafman. “The facility allows us to break up our Children’s Ministry into other classrooms and it gives us a wholeness as a church, so we’re really excited about it.”
The church service style at Calvary is contemporary teaching, according to Grafman.
“What you can expect at a Calvary is to sit down and the pastor is going to preach right out of scripture for 45 minutes to an hour,” he said. “It’s a verse-by-verse approach. You know what you can expect each week. We are learning through the Word together.”
The growing church plans to add more ministries as needed. Sunday service is from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
