SHELBY COUNTY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of six people in connection to the shooting death of a teen on Oct. 20, 2019.
Investigators said 17-year-old Stanley M. Turner II was killed at the Sonesta Extended Stay Suites, in the Highway 280 corridor of Northern Shelby County.
Several agencies worked on the case and came to the conclusion that the death occurred during the commission of a robbery. The following people are facing charges:
Rodriquez T. Allen, 20 years of age from McCalla, was arrested on Nov. 29, 2019, and has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
Jamicah J. Jordan, 17 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as an adult and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
Jakobi C. Witherspoon, 18 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree, and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $1,300,000.
Aja Kylandrea Brenee Whitt, 17 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as an adult. She was arrested and subsequently released from the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
Jamaal Antowain Phillips, 17 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as an adult. He was arrested and subsequently released from the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000.
A male juvenile has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree and is being held in the Shelby County Youth Detention Center.
