Wanda Wiley Winstead, 76, of Trussville, Alabama, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.
She was born at home in Robinwood, Alabama, on June 16, 1943, to the late James Aaron Wiley and Odie Eugenia Wiley.
She was a member of the Tarrant High School Class of 1961.
Wanda was preceded in death by brothers Vadis Wiley, Orbin Wiley, Marvin Wiley, Royce Wiley and Lebron Wiley. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hayward Winstead; sons, Blaine (Renee) Winstead and Brandon (Michelle) Winstead; best friend and sister Barbara (Bob) Jerrell. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
For more than 40 years, Wanda was co-owner and operator of the family businesses Coin Laundry and Parkway Cleaners in Center Point and Trussville, Alabama. During her life, she was happiest worshiping the Lord and working with preschoolers at Hilldale Baptist Church where she was a member for more than 35 years.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama, with visitation from noon- 2 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent’s MICU and family members Barbara and Bob Jerrell and Amy Lindsey who were at her side during her final days.”2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
