MONTGOMERY — Governor Kay Ivey issued a proclamation ordering all flags in the state of Alabama to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
The proclamation is in honor of lives lost one year ago when tornadoes hit Autauga, Bullock, Henry, Geneva, Washington, Macon, Barbour and Lee counties.
During the tornado outbreak, 230 homes were destroyed, another 141 homes were damaged and 23 people lost their lives.
Ivey ordered the flags be flown at half-staff until sunset on March 3. She encouraged Alabamians to reflect on and to honor lives lost one year ago.
