TARRANT — A bicyclist was struck and killed late Monday night on Highway 79.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a cyclist was crossing the northbound lanes in the 2800 block of Highway 79, near Tarrant, when the person was struck by a pickup truck at around 11 p.m. The driver remains on scene. No other information has been revealed.
The identity of the cyclist has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
